Ten Activities for Valentine's Day

This collection of activities includes virtual valentines for children to fill out in the weeks before Valentine's Day and other fun books and activities for them to do in place of their typical Valentine's Day celebrations. 1. Virtual Valentines: Sweet N Fruity Messages

Pine Friends Perfect Pear Cherry Sweet

These sweet and fruity valentines work just like the paper cards. Simply have students fill out their name and the names of their friends.

2. My Heart Is Like a Zoo Read Aloud and Digital Craft

Directions: Drag the shapes to make a fish.

This activity goes along with the book My Heart Is Like a Zoo by Michael Hall. After listening to the text have students use the shapes to do the digital craft. 

Teachers: Please try out the craft on your students' devices before assigning it. Drag and drop can be very hard for young students especially when the shapes are small.

3. Virtual Valentines: My Heart Is Like a Zoo

These animal themed valentines go along with the book My Heart Is Like a Zoo by Michael Hall. They work just like the paper cards. Simply have students fill out their name and the names of their friends.

4. Write a Valentine Google Slides

Happy Valentine's Day Directions: Pick a rectangle and type a Valentine's message to that Student's Valentine slide. Don't forget to sign your name!

This set of virtual valentines was made by my colleague, Lauren Wilder. Share one copy of this slideshow with everyone and work together to write messages to each other.

These adorable valentines are meant to be designed and printed. Alternatively, your students could save the picture file and set it as a background on Google Slides, Jamboard, or upload it to Seesaw. Then they can add text boxes on top of the image to write in the names.

9. Bitmoji Valentine's Day Themed Virtual Classroom

Make a copy of this editable Valentine's Day themed Google Slides Classroom. Add objects to the wall, table, and whiteboard (screeenshots of your materials work great for this) and link them to the files and websites your students will need. Don't forget to add your Bitmoji for a little extra fun!

10. Valentine's Day Would You Rather

Minds in Bloom on Teachers Pay Teachers shares this set of free Valentine's Day themed Would You Rather questions. Share her Google Slides so everyone has the same copy of the slideshow and have your students drag the hearts into the conversation heart box to indicate their answer.
